Information we collect
Information you give us
When you submit the enquiry form we collect your name, email address, and — if you choose to provide them — your business name, phone number, and the content of your message. We also record whether you consented to be contacted and whether you opted in to marketing email.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, we receive technical information when you visit: IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages viewed, and timestamps. Our form also records the submitting IP address as an anti-spam measure.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and comparable technologies for three purposes: keeping the site working, understanding how it is used, and measuring and targeting our advertising. Details are in the advertising section below. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings; essential cookies are required for forms to function.
How we use your information
- To answer you. We use your contact details to respond to the enquiry you submitted.
- To send marketing email — only if you opted in. The marketing checkbox is separate and optional. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link and our postal address.
- To operate and secure the site, including spam filtering and diagnosing faults.
- To measure and improve our advertising, including understanding which campaigns lead to enquiries.
- To meet legal obligations and to establish or defend legal claims where necessary.
We do not use your enquiry to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
Advertising and analytics
We advertise this site through Google Ads and measure results with Google Analytics. These services set cookies and receive technical identifiers that let them attribute a visit or an enquiry to an ad, and — where remarketing is enabled — show you our ads on other sites.
Under California law, disclosing identifiers to an advertising partner for cross-context behavioural advertising counts as “sharing” personal information, even though no money changes hands. If we run remarketing, we share personal information in that sense. We do not sell personal information for money.
You can opt out of this at any time — see Your choices below. You can also control Google’s use of your data through Google Ad Settings and install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. How Google handles data is described in Google’s own privacy policy.
Who we share information with
We share personal information only with service providers who process it on our behalf, and only for the purposes above: our website host, our email provider, our advertising and analytics providers, and — if we use one — our customer-relationship tool. We may also disclose information where we are legally required to.
Some of these providers are located in the United States. If you contact us from Canada or elsewhere, your information may be processed and stored outside your country and may be accessible to courts and authorities there.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for 24 months after our last contact with you, then deleted. Marketing subscribers are kept until you unsubscribe. Technical logs are kept for a shorter period. You can ask us to delete your information sooner.
Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You can unsubscribe from marketing at any time using the link in any marketing email, or by emailing us. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.
If you are in California
Under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA you have the right to know what we collect and why, to request deletion, to request correction, to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, to limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not collect any), and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
To opt out of sharing for advertising, use the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in the site footer, or email privacy@toast-info.com with that phrase as the subject line. We honour Global Privacy Control signals sent by your browser. An authorised agent may submit a request on your behalf with written proof of authorisation.
If you are in Canada
We handle personal information in line with PIPEDA. You may request access to your information or challenge its accuracy by emailing us, and you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. We send commercial electronic messages only with your express consent, as required by CASL, and every message identifies us and includes an unsubscribe mechanism.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS and access to enquiry data is restricted to people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please do not send us sensitive information — payment card numbers, government identifiers, or account passwords — through the enquiry form.
Children
This site is intended for people running or working in food-service businesses. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be announced on this page before they take effect.
